The Elthorne Learning Centre (ELC) is committed to giving equal access and easy access to our training programmes to all sections of the community.
Marketing and Publicity
ELC will ensure that:
· ELC advertisement, leaflets, poster, email and newsletters promoting all our courses including advice and guidance targets all sections of the community including special interest groups
· Publicity and training information are offered in different languages
· Provide course information in large print
· Positively target special interest groups who are underrepresented on our courses
Selection
ELC will ensure that all potential learners are assessed and selected on the basis that they need and can benefit from training and advice and guidance offered, and that the training will assist them to achieve their individual Action Plans.
ELC will ensure that:
· Selection criteria does not exclude certain groups
· Learners know the selection criteria prior to interview, and provide interpreters when needed
· Interviews are conducted in an accessible and friendly environment
· Learners are given the opportunity to express any particular needs
· Referral to specialist support is made where appropriate
· Where learners are rejected a clear explanation is given and an appropriate referral is made
